Since its inception in 2000, under the proprietorship of Mr. K P Md. Sharif, Arafa International has grown by leaps and bounds. Commencing operations with a small consignment exported to a buyer in Dubai, U.A.E., Arafa is now exporting to buyers in U.S.A, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Bahrain and Qatar. Efforts are on to tap the Japanese & South American markets.

From a modest turnover of INR (Indian Rupees) 1,400,000 in 2000-2001, the firm grossed nearly INR 9,300,000 in 2001-2002 and the projected turnover for the Financial Year 2006-2007 is INR 12,000,000.

This modest beginning was made by outsourcing products from local manufacturers, though now Arafa can proudly claim to have its own manufacturing unit catering exclusively to its own clientele. Arafa is maintaining stringent quality control at the production stage itself resulting in zero complaints from buyers. The exported product is exactly as per the sample and the customer’s requirement and there is no deviation in quality.

Our production facility, located in the southern part of Kolkata, is manufacturing leather items – mainly wallets, bags, portfolios and handbags. Another production unit dedicated to the manufacture of inexpensive and wearable textile garments is located in Howrah, near Kolkata. Our major items of export are men’s wallets, ladies’ purses and bags, leather portfolios, textile garments, footwear and other gift items.
